Serves: 4 Prep: 10min Cook: 25min
This stir-fried Garlic Beef with Broccolini brings bold flavours and aromatic ingredients together for a quick and satisfying meal. Enhanced by a dash of Port Lincoln Sardine Garum, this dish is ideal for weeknight dinners served over steamed white rice.
Ingredients:
500g topside beef, thinly sliced across the grain
3 tsp cornflour
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp cracked black pepper
2 tbsp peanut oil
1 brown onion, halved, cut into thin wedges
4 garlic cloves, crushed
⅓ cup coarsely chopped fresh garlic chives
1 bunch broccolini, cut into 4cm lengths (or broccoli)
160ml (⅔ cup) Massel vegetable liquid stock
2 tbsp kecap manis
Steamed white rice, to serve
Recipe Method:
Prepare the Beef: In a large bowl, combine the beef, Port Lincoln Sardine Garum, cornflour, sesame oil, and cracked black pepper. Mix until evenly coated.
Stir-Fry the Beef: Heat 3 teaspoons of the peanut oil in a wok over high heat until just smoking. Add half of the beef mixture and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until browned. Transfer to a bowl. Repeat with another 3 teaspoons of oil and the remaining beef, reheating the wok between batches.
Cook the Vegetables: Heat the remaining oil in the wok over medium-high heat until smoking. Add the onion and stir-fry for 2 minutes or until softened. Add the garlic and half the garlic chives, stir-frying for 1 minute until aromatic. Then add the broccolini and stock, stir-frying for 3 minutes or until the broccolini is bright green and tender-crisp.
Serve: Serve the stir-fried beef and broccolini with steamed white rice, garnished with the remaining garlic chives.
